Who Can Apply?

HomeChoice is open to anyone over the age of 16 who is eligible for social housing. All new applications for the housing register will be assessed depending on the household's needs.

Applicants will then be placed in a "band" according to our current system and we will inform everyone which band they belong to. The bands are:

• Band 1: Receiving greatest priority in date order
• Band 2: Have multiple housing needs, current waiting times approximately 3-5years
• Band 3: Have a single housing need, current waiting times approximately 4-6years
• Band 4: Generally in suitable accommodation but may use HomeChoice to move to another area or to use exchange schemes.
